Boosting Production When Natural Flow Isn't Enough
Being an engineer, I have worked with many clients in the oil and gas industry. One challenge they often face is maintaining production from aging wells. These wells may not have enough natural pressure to push oil and gas to the surface efficiently.
I have experience optimizing and working over rod lift pumps in conventional oil fields throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan. I have used Srod to do rod design.
Another field I have extensive experience is in cold heavy oil production system (CHOPS) in the heavy oil belt around Lloydminster and further South to Mantario and Marengo in West Central Saskatchewan. The progressive cavity pump is the optimum sand producing pump, which is what you want to create the “wormholes’ which act as highways bringing the heavy oil to the wellbore. I have experience in sizing and optimizing these pumps.
I have experience in using electric submersible pumps (ESPs) in sour fields like Bashaw in Central Alberta in the Leduc and Nisku pools.
I have installed and operated a number of plungerlifts, some continuous cycling and some on controllers, studying the SCADA data of pressure, flowrate and time to cycle to understand how to optimize them.
